While Sunday is the best day to plan a new week, Monday is the best day to kick off those plans. Want to have a fabulous week ahead? Then you should imbibe these Monday habits.
- Be the First
The first person to wake up in your house, the first person to get to the office, the first person to submit weekly report, the first to be back from lunch among other firsts, keeps you ahead of people around you.

Monday is not a day to be dull, so the faster you get on your tasks for the day, the earlier you’ll get them done and move on to other things. Note that if you don’t finish your Monday tasks, they will eventually spill over to Tuesday and probably Wednesday . . . creating unnecessary backlogs for you.
- Read all Mails
Having so many unread and unanswered mails doesn’t speak well of you. You never know how urgent the sender needs a response and ignoring your mails might delay some other person’s work. The best time to read your mails is on your way to work, if you aren’t the one driving, or first thing when you get on your desk.
- Plan the week
This should be done a day before the actual first working day to enable a smooth and purposeful week ahead. Take out time on Sunday to schedule your meetings, and duties for the week, not forgetting to put a timeline on actualization.
- Call a business partner
Monday is a good day to remind someone about a business plan or event you previously talked about, so the person has you in mind while planning their own week. ‘Opps I forgot to schedule you’ might be the response if you call on a later day after the week has already be booked.
- Stay Positive
You need more motivation to start a Monday than you need for any other day because Mondays have a great influence on the rest of the week. Once you get it right on the first day, the rest has no choice but to follow suit.
